Hand Washing Techniques

Proper hand washing techniques

-Turn on warm running water and wet hands
-Apply liquid soap to wet hands and lather
-Rub hands vigorously together for 15-20 seconds
-Be sure to scrub between all fingers, under nails, and all surfaces of hands, including wrists
-Rinse well under running water
-Dry hands with clean or disposable towel
-Turn water faucet off with towel

Alternatives to traditional hand washing

-Portable hand sanitizers, such as Purell
-Alcohol-based hand sanitizer dispensers
-Hand-cleansing wipes
